Jones Mercury Snowboard Bindings 2026

Jones Mercury Snowboard Bindings 2026

The Jones Mercury is for the rider who likes to ride hard and fast but doesn't want the stiffest, most aggressive binding out there. A mid-stiff highback that sits right around an 8 out of 10 in flex will be plenty for most riding styles. It can handle most speeds confidently and won't require too much effort at lower speeds for the progressing intermediate or the seasoned expert. New riders might find the highback to be too rigid and demanding at lower speeds and should look into some softer options like the Jones Orion. On the flip side, if your main priority is stiffness, check out the Jones Appollo. The Mercury is the option if you want the best of both worlds. The Mercury, along with all Jones Bindings, is equipped with a Skate-Tech chassis that's purpose is to transmit energy between your binding and your snowboard more effectively. Skate-Tech bindings have a small, circular, base plate that sits flat between the footbed of the binding and your board and will pivot ever so slightly depending on where your weight is. Sounds crazy, but after many test days with Skate-Tech bindings, it's very legit. The noticeable difference is that it provides extra energy, makes turn initiation easier and smoother, and reduces foot fatigue. In the case of the Mercury, you're given additional maneuverability without sacrificing any of the qualities of a mid-stiff binding. Pair these guys with a medium-stiff flex all-mountain board like the Jones Mountain Twin or Jones Frontier and you're golden.
